Elephant in the Room
On behalf of Awards Victoria, Douglas LPT presents the “Elephant in the Room” series.
The series is a group of thought provoking breakfasts focused specifically on topics that fall outside the law. The issues being addressed have become a source of much curiosity but are rarely discussed openly, hence the name for the presentations, “Elephant in the Room”.
Each ticket costs just $60 which will include a hot buffet breakfast. The money raised from the series will go to Awards Victoria. The funds received will be allocated to projects conducted by the Award office staff such as:
- Funding support for disadvantaged young people to undertake Award programs
- Support of Aboriginal young people to engage in a range of positive recreational programs, within a Juvenile Justice framework
- Employment of a teacher in a remote Nepali community
- Provision of resources to support Youth Award leaders
