Serving the community is central to Douglas LPT
The Tony Douglas Foundation – named after the father of Douglas Workplace & Litigation Lawyers Principal Andrew Douglas – was established as a vehicle for the charitable and pro bono work of the firm.
At Douglas LPT, we see community service as a way of contributing to broader society, but it is a two-way street.
Participating in charitable work contributes greatly to the personal development, skills and insight of staff; and strengthens the values and culture of our workplace.
We encourage all our friends, providers and clients to get involved in our charitable work.
The Inaugural Dinner
Tony Douglas Foundation 2007
What a wonderful dinner. Our clients, providers, family and friends attended. They enjoyed the ionic Ross Wilson and the Urban Legends, ate, danced, and drank the night away. Many new friends were made. We formed many important ties to the Foundation which will help it in its work going forward. A special thanks to Mr Tony Douglas, the key note speaker, Penny Lovett (General Manager of Human Resources HBA), our MC, and all who attended.
Tony Douglas Foundation 2008
What a great night! The evening was kicked of by Graeme Kent, CEO of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, who explained the Award and the substantial contribution the Foundation makes to the Award. Danny McAllister, of McAllisters Fitness and an oficionado of OZ music, ran the music quiz – anyone under 40 will be excused for not knowing one song. Tony Douglas, now aged 86 spoke of the lost horses and of the apocalypse and how it was the greatest risk of all – complacency. Joe Camilleri and the Black Sorrows. Everyone danced. The band was just fabulous. And it is worth knowing that they heavily discounted their usual fees to support the Foundation. The Kelvin Club, its manager John and barman, waiter and performer extraordinaire – Sam thanks for a great night.

Tony Douglas Foundation Dinner 2009
Over the past few years we have had amazing Tony Douglas Foundation Dinners and 2009 was no exception! The evening was hosted by our very own Andrew Douglas who did a fantastic job as MC for the evening. Graeme Kent, CEO of Awards Victoria, presented briefly about Award and the substantial contribution the Foundation makes to all the Award Programs. A surprise treat! Two superb opera singers, Joe Vacirca and Lino Del Giudice delighted the guests with some classic opera delights. They were accompanied by the wonderful Stella Svetec playing piano. Once again, Danny McAllister, of McAllisters Fitness and an oficionado of Australian music, ran the music quiz, which was a huge success!
This year on behalf of Tony Douglas, Anthony Douglas provided the main speech. Anthony explained what the Foundation is all about, in particular its support for 2009 in creating a Koorie Juvenile Justice Program in Ballarat. To end the evening with a bang, Mental As Anything provided the music. Everyone got to their feet and danced to band’s greatest hits. The band was just spectacular. We thank Mental As Anything for their support for our event and more importantly for heavily discounting their fees to support the Foundation.
Once again The Kelvin Club did a fantastic job and we thank its manager John and his staff for a great night.
Thank you to everyone who supported the event and we look forward to celebrating once again in 2010!
